Mathew (my 3XG grandfather) married Susanna VIRGIN at Axminster in 1785. Four children baptised at Axminster: Sarah 1786, Elizabeth 1789-1862, Mary 1796-c.1842 , 2XG-GF George 1798-1881, and 3 infants who lived a short time. 
Matthew has 1000 descendants, most in New Zealand

    Elizabeth 1789 married George HOARE in 1815, 2 children at Axminster, 4 known descendants
    Mary 1796 married Isaac TURNER in 1819, 4 children at Chardstock, 30 known descendants SALTER, WILMOTT, GEDDES, TOPE

GG-GF George (born Farway but baptised Axminster) married Mary Ann GODDARD at Axminster in 1826, baptised five children at Membury, but was in Axminster for the 1841 census where a son was born, and George died there in 1881

GGF John CROSS lived in Axminter 1841-51 but moved to Combeinteignhead to marry Sarah SETTER in 1855
