LLANISHEN, in the Wye Valley of Monmouthshire (Gwent) Wales

My 3XG grandfather James THOMAS moved from Newchurch to marry at Llanvihangel Torymynydd in 1794, then settled in Llanishen c. 1800.
The population in 1861 was 449 and of the 79 households in the parish over 50 were involved in agriculture.

The last of my THOMAS relatives in Llanishen was 2XG Aunt Sarah 1825-1914 who never married.
 In 1891 she was living at "Great Pool" and in 1901 at "The Gables".  In 1908 she attended the Llanishen Parish Council meeting.  Died 1914.
