NICKLEN Family History (genealogy) Dorset & Hampshire
There were  NICHOLES, NICHOLAS, & NICHOLAND in Ringwood in the late 16th century, and in Cranborne and its Alderholt tything in the 17th century.
The NICKLEN variation occurs at Cranborne & Alderholt in the late 17th & 18th century History of Alderholt St. James; and in Hampshire from 1780.
.the NICKLAND variation occuring  at Fordingbridge in 1742, Cranborne in 1768. and then Sopley in 1782.
The NECKLEN spelling variation (my family line) started in 1847 with the sons of William NICKLAND at Winterbourne Came.
